2 minute skating survey
We are a student group at Boston University's School of Management who are desperately trying to finish a project so that we can eat turkey.

One final (ridiculously short!) survey for anyone that is involved in hockey, figure skating, or ice skating of any kind. If you can take this 2 minute survey you will be providing us with a vital piece of information to complete our project. Thanks in advance for your time!

New (short!) Skating Survey

We are a group of students at Boston University who are working on a project that involves the ice skating industry. If you play hockey, figure skate, or skate recreationally, it would be a huge help if you could take two minutes to take this survey for us! The survey is located here: http://websurveyor.net/wsb.dll/34802/skating.htm

Thank you very much!

Skating project

We are a group of juniors at Boston University who are completing a business development project. We’re developing a new product in the ice skating industry. It would be a great help if you could take our five minute survey, located at http://websurveyor.net/wsb.dll/34802/iceskatingsurvey.htm. One of our requirements is to collect 500 of these surveys so your five minutes means the world to us.

Thank you in advance for the time!

Best regards,

This is for anyone who lives in the Arizona area and are planning to attend Stars On Ice at the TCC Arena:

I want to inform everyone that NO CAMERAS digital or otherwise will be allowed. This includes cell phones that have cameras as well as binoculars with cameras and any type of camcorders. There are No Exceptions to this rule. If you bring a camera and we catch you with it, it will be confiscated. If you refuse, security will escort you out of the arena to where you will be forced to delete the images while we are watching and then turn over the camera if it is digital. If it is a disposable, the camera will be destroyed, if it is a regular one, all film inside the camera will be destroyed and the camera will have to be turned in to administration. All camcorders and cell phones will be confiscated and given back at the end of the show. No Exceptions.

This is at the request of Stars On Ice.. not TCC.

I am sure no one wants to miss the show nor go through all the hassle if they get caught with a camera. If anyone is going or knows someone who is, Please inform them of this rule. It would make my job a whole lot easier. (It may be great exercise, but running up and down the arena stairs because people like to break the rules is not my idea of fun.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the show.

Hello everyone.

I just joined.
Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to learn how to figure skate but my mom would never let me even learn to ice-skate. Disney On Ice is performing this week in Tucson and I have been working the shows. (I do security for such events.) Anyway, while at work some lady was passing out free passes to our local ice-skating rink and she gave me some. I can finally take lessons!! *is giddy* (After 18 years of waiting.)

I don't know much about figure skating (except that it is so graceful) so I was wondering how long it took to learn jumps, axles, and such after you first learned to skate.

I don't have dreams of making it into the Olympics or anything. I know I am too old for that. ~lol~ But I do want to show my family that despite them trying to dissuade me, I could learn to ice-skate. (plus my husband seems to think I will succeed at nothing but falling on my ass.) I have plans on taking lessons starting Nov.2 It's a 9 week course. So any beginners advice would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

*Edit* I would be more then happy to help the moderator of this community in putting up a backround image and such. My old lj is druidess and that is about the extent of what I know how to do in modifications. I will even host the image, that's no problem. If you send me a pic that you want for your back round and tell me the color scheme you would like, I would be more then happy to help you out. :)

April 4, 2003: She did it! Lucinda broke the record for the highest number of revolutions in an upright spin! On the Today Show yesterday morning, she made 105 revolutions, and in the afternoon at Chelsea Piers, she did her own personal best of 115 revolutions!! So the record is now 115! The previous record was 60, set by Neil Wilson of Great Britain. She also went for the record of the fastest spin, and that tape is currently being analyzed.
